June Webb Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce our mother, June Webb (nee Margach, Colvine) passed away December 10, 2023, at Penticton Regional Hospital. Mom was born in Coldstream, Scotland, on November 29, 1927. She married George Colvine in September 1949 and Ian joined them in September 1951. In June 1957, the family emigrated from Scotland to Canada and settled in Saskatoon. Dawn completed the family in June 1963. Mom lost “the love of her life” in 1974 when George passed at the early age of 53. She then went to work at the Local History Room at Saskatoon Public Library. She enjoyed her years there and retired at the age of 65. In December 1992, she married Peter Webb of Penticton.
June (she never went by Elsie) is survived by her husband, Peter Webb; son, Ian (Donna) Colvine in Saskatoon, and daughter, Dawn Colvine-Woo (Ken) in Calgary; grandchildren, Ilene (Scott) Janis, Adam (Cindy Dolan) Colvine, Alexander Woo, Megan (Colin Hillson) Woo; and great-grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Janis and cousin, Frances Bryce in Scotland.
June was the first child in her family and was predeceased by all her siblings, Moira, Nancy, and William (Billy) Margach.
Since her marriage to Peter, she resided in Penticton, BC, enjoying the milder winters and together they had some amazing travel adventures. In July of 2022, they moved to Summerland Seniors Village as their health conditions meant they could no longer safely live independently. Many thanks to the staff at SSV for making life easier and especially to companion, Laurie Kenzie who went above and beyond providing additional care services.
Mom chose to be cremated and her ashes will be interred at a later date. No funeral will be held as per her wishes, family will gather at a later date to pay our respects. She told us not to grieve for her as she had a good life and two wonderful husbands. Regardless, we will miss her greatly.
