Jean Eunice Travis Obituary
Jean passed away peacefully in her sleep on the evening of September 4, 2024 at Haven Hill
Retirement Home in Penticton, BC.
Jean is survived by her loving family of 3 sons: Steve (Gita), Jeff (Brigitte) and Keith (Diana),
daughter-in-law Joy; six grandsons: Sean (Cinthya), Chris (Claire), Scott (Samantha), Steve
(Gillian), Michael (Amanda), and Jeffrey (Brittani), step grand-daughters Winnie & Tara, and
11 great grandchildren. Brother Walter, sister Freda, brother-in-law Eric (Lorraine), sisters-
in-law Marion and Joan. Jean is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews
and many long-time friends.
Jean was pre-deceased by her loving husband Howie (2016), her youngest son Stu (2015) her
brother John (1995) and brother Gerry (2021).
Jean and Howie were married for 66 years and led an ideal fairy tale life. They loved each
other from the moment they met, until Howie’s death in 2016. Jean lived life to the fullest
with a passion for raising her boys, enjoying travel, square-dancing and socializing with their
large group of dear and close friends. Of course, we will always remember her love of her
coffee with Baileys.
A celebration of life and interment of Jean’s ashes will be held in Courtenay, BC at a later
date (to be announced).
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses for their dedication and care towards Jean’s
well-being over the past 5 years.
Jean will forever be smiling down on us.
