A beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Donna Gilmore, left this world peacefully at 2:15 PM, on August 12th, 2024.
Born in Listowel, Ontario, on January 19, 1971, to Karen (Don Hannas) and Bruce Gilmore (Julia). Donna grew up with four siblings, Jim (Sarah), David, Dennis (Kim), and Diane Haskins (Ken). She loved to play dolls and play with her siblings in the local lakes. Donna was a multi-talented girl who also loved to fish and get her hands dirty outside any chance she could.
Donna was a mom to daughter, Samantha (Chad) and son, Kyle, as well as a grandma to Tyler and Duncan. An aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a stepsister to Renee Tremmel (Mike) and Vincent Hannas. Donna was a lover of the arts and enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She was funny, outgoing, and vivacious, but she was also introverted and introspective and her friend circle stayed small and tight.
We will always remember her infectious smile, piercing blue eyes, and caring personality. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed. When you think of Donna, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
Donna was predeceased by her grandparents, Velma & Addison Jacques; her father, Bruce Gilmore; her brother, David Gilmore; and Julia Gilmore.
We as a family want to offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours, and well-wishers who visited our home, called, emailed, and provided emotional support for us at this difficult time. We also want to give a huge thank you to the Penticton Regional Hospital and the entire ICU team who took such good care of us and Donna through the entire process. We are truly grateful and could never repay them for the incredible kindness and support they supplied.
