Christina “Betty” Elizabeth Smyth of Summerland, BC, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023, at Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton.
Betty will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted daughters: Christie (Dale) Young of Summerland, BC, Cindy (Claude) Bradley of Cold Lake, AB, and Julie (Dave) Quartly of Prince George, BC; her grandchildren; Rob Bradley of Thorhild, AB, Hannah Young of Princeton, BC, Shaylin Quartly of Prince George, BC, and Aidan Quartly of Williams Lake, BC; her brother Bill (Jane) MacEwan of Abbotsford, BC, many dear family, friends, and fellow dragon boat paddlers.
Paddles up!
Betty lived in Prince George for 46 years, where she raised her three daughters with her late husband, Tom Smyth, before moving to Summerland for the past nine years where she was an avid member of the Survivorship Dragonboat team. She loved being on the water, paddling with the team.
Betty will be fondly remembered for being an incredibly kind, patient, positive, loving person.
