Catherine Jordan Obituary
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Jordan. Catherine passed peacefully while surrounded by family at Penticton Regional Hospital on Wednesday May 1st, 2024 at the age of 98.
Catherine will be missed by daughters Susan McCardell, Shirley Bowman, and Karol Jordan. Grandchildren: Shane (Gwen) Prosser, Brenda (John) Dulude, Allison Marques, Laura (Ashkan) Bowman, Kristen (Morgan) Tranfield, Michael (Kristen), Lindsay, and Jordan Sierhuis. Great grandchildren: James (Hetty), Nathan, Liam, Arman, Roman, Maya, Marcus, Taya, Brie, Oakley and Carson as well as many nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Dave in 2009, sisters Betty Shaw, Theresa Blumhagen, and Win Schwalek and grandson Ryan Sierhuis.
Catherine was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta, June 28th, 1925, and moved to the Nicola Valley and then Merritt as a young child. Her family relocated to Penticton when she was twelve. After high school Catherine trained to be a Registered Nurse at the Royal Columbia Hospital in New Westminster. Catherine married Dave in March 1949. They were married for sixty years.She worked at the Princeton hospital briefly and the Penticton hospital for thirty years. Catherine was an avid reader and was always ready for a game of cards. She loved going fishing with her sister Betty and family. Travelling, knitting, sewing, bowling, gardening and long walks to enjoy nature were also favourite past times. Catherine was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. Her warmth and kindness enriched the lives of all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Concorde, Dr. Andrew Pavilion, Haven Hill and Penticton Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Everden Rust Funeral Chapel, 1130 Carmi Ave in Penticton on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
