Cameron Bond Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Cameron (Cam) Bond while boarding a flight in Kelowna on Nov 30, 2023. He was 59 years young with the cause of death still unknown.
Cam was born and raised in Nelson, BC, to Jack and Charlotte, the youngest brother of 5 siblings. He was the most loving partner, stepdad, step-grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and most recently dog dad.
Cam will forever be missed by his partner LeeAnna Binder (and puppy Finnegan); his stepdaughters, Megan (Evan), Chyanne (grandchildren Charlotte and Carson), and Halle (Derek); his mother Charlotte; his brothers, Dean (Marleen), Steve (Aunaray), and Jeff; his sister, Nanci (Brian); and many colleagues, friends, family, as well as the numerous lives he has touched around the world with his insightful conversations. He was predeceased by his father, Jack Bond.
Growing up in Nelson, Cam excelled in school and sports and had a tendency for getting into trouble. He definitely kept his teachers on their toes! Most sports came easily to him, including hockey, where he was an accomplished goaltender in minor hockey up to Midget age. He later coached kids of all ages in hockey, including his nephew Curtis, whom he inspired between the pipes. He will always be remembered by his niece and nephews as “Uncle Buck.”
Cam started his career in the hospitality industry as the General Manager of the Hume Hotel in Nelson and left a significant impact there, with the people, building, and community. Just before 2000, he moved to Summerland to work alongside his first wife of nearly 20 years in the wine and restaurant industry.
Those who knew Cam will remember he was always up on the latest health products or research, which led him to meet his soulmate LeeAnna in 2019, and to follow his lifelong passion for the health and wellness industry by becoming an Emotion Code Practitioner, Live Blood Analyst and where he helped create O’Kana Guest Ranch in Summerland. In 2021, Cam alongside LeeAnna decided to travel the world for the last 2 years, absorbing everything new coming his way. Using his gifts of marketing, Cam worked remotely in 30 countries as the Business Development Manager for an American-based company developing the treatment of cancerous tumors in animals (IsoPet) and humans (RadioGel).
Cam had a knack for engaging anyone in a conversation and knew everything about anything. He had an incredible thirst for knowledge from a young age, an inquisitive mind, a passion for life, and a willingness to help. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A heartfelt thank you to the passengers and staff of Flair Airlines on Nov 30 in Kelowna, where everything that could be done, was done for Cam in his final moments on this earth.
A scholarship will be set up in Cam’s honor for students planning to enter post-secondary schooling as first responders.
A celebration of Cam’s life will be held at one of his favorite places in the world, the Hume Hotel Spirit Bar, in Nelson, BC on Jan 27, 2024, at 3 p.m. For those who cannot attend in Nelson, please email LeeAnna.Binder@icloud.com for a link to the virtual Zoom service.
