Richard Thomas Barber (Rick)
December 29, 1949 – March 10, 2024
Rick passed away peacefully with his three girls by his side, his loving wife Molly, his cherished daughter Kendra, and the joy of his life, his precious granddaughter Amelia.
He will also be missed by his son-in-law Luca and his step-granddaughter Julia.
Rick is survived by his sisters Terry and Denise and his brothers Marv, Dave, and Phil. He is predeceased by his brothers Al and Marty.
Rick was born in Simcoe, Ontario where he met Molly. They lived in Port Dover for most of their married life until they retired to Nelson, BC in 2014 to be close to their family. The mountain life was very good to Rick and Molly. They got to spend lots of time with their family and attend all their granddaughter’s school activities, soccer games, and dance recitals. Rick enjoyed gardening and walking in the woods and on the beaches with the family dog, Roxy.
Throughout his life, Rick loved listening to and making music. He especially enjoyed playing his bass guitar. He played with the Mood in the 60’s and later with Kybo Jack.
A ceremony and cremation have been held with the arrangements entrusted to Thompson Funeral Home in Nelson, BC.
