JORDAN, Michael Lewis (Lew) passed away peacefully in Nelson on August 17, 2024, at the age of 79 after a well fought, seven-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Lew will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Joan, his daughters Shannon (Ray Ellis) and Danielle (Joel Holmberg), his grandchildren Shelby (Jerod Bartnik), Jenna, Liam, Fergus, Seamus and great grandchildren Saoirse and Bren Holmberg. Lew also leaves his brother Joe, sisters Joanne (Don McCuaig), Mary Lou (Terry Carleton) Annette (Lyle Sackmann), ‘adopted sister’ Joan (Larry Demaere) sisters-in-law Elaine Martin, Susan (Ron Durant), Sharry Heighton and numerous nieces and nephews. Lew was predeceased by his infant daughter Jodi Michelle and his sister Kathryn (Carl) as well as his parents.
Born to Mike and Agnes Jordan on Sept. 17, 1944, in Ft Macleod, AB where he spent his youth. Following graduation, he attended Lethbridge Jr. College and Notre Dame University in Nelson, transferring to Calgary to complete his degree in Education in 1967. Lew enjoyed teaching in High Level and Calgary however opted for what would be a life-long career in sales where he valued each and every friendship he made along the way.
Lew was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus # 7916 of Ladner, was a member of the Assoc. Of Can. Travellers in Kelowna and the Royal Can. Legion #51 in Nelson. He loved sports of all kinds and enjoyed basketball, baseball, curling, golf, the enduring friendships those activities generated but most of all, he loved his family beyond measure.
We would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Dr. Kobayashi, the Oncology Clinic at the Kootenay Lake General Hospital and the staff at Mountain Lake Seniors Community for their wonderful care of Lew.

A funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, Nelson on August 31st, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
