Carol Anthea Wallmark (Tarr)
(March 27, 1941, to April 7, 2024)
Following a short battle with dementia, Carol (Nicky) Anthea Wallmark (Tarr) passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Kaslo. Born in Nelson on March 27,1941 to parents Carl (Pete) Tarr and Kathleen (Kay) Tarr (nee Sawczuk), Carol grew up in Argenta with older sister Sylvia and younger siblings Robert, Michael, and Patricia. Following her graduation from Royal Inland Hospital with her RN diploma in 1964 Carol married John Wallmark; they settled in Revelstoke and had 3 children, Charlene, Duane, and Leah.
In 1979 Carol, John and kids moved to Kaslo. Carol worked at a variety of jobs in the community (Sear’s office, Kaslo Drugs) ending her working days at the Victorian Hospital of Kaslo as a nurse’s aide.
Carol’s ultimate joy and gift was spending time with her grandchildren, extended family, and close friends. Her capacity for love, support and acceptance of others is her legacy to all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her children Charlene, Duane (Vicki) Leah (Darin) and her grandchildren Julian, Lydia, Willow, Lyleah, Thomas, Sarah, Mitchell (Lorina), Hayley, Jaylyn.
Carol was an “Aunty Nicky” to her many nieces and nephews.
Carol is pre-deceased by her husband John, parents Pete and Kathleen and brother Robert Tarr.
Our heart felt thanks and gratitude go to the amazing staff at the Victorian LTC facility, their level of care and commitment provided to Carol in her last days was unparalleled.
There will be no funeral at this time, but a small gathering will be planned for later this summer.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the ALS Society, Alzheimer’s Society or the Victorian Community LTC.
