With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Winston Wright at the age of 58.
Winston’s life was defined by his love, compassion & devotion to his children and loving wife. As a father, he offered tender support and guidance to his son and daughter, raising each to reflect his values in kindness, stability, and respect through a strong family foundation. Happily, ever after began on his first date with his wife, their shared joie de vivre created a match made in Heaven. His family is forever grateful to share in his vision and love.
From his birth in Fiji, school years in Hong Kong, university in Washington state, and life in Canada, Winston continued to nurture past friendships and relationships worldwide, despite geographical distance. Every person Winston knew held a special place in his heart. These are connections he truly treasured. He loved to reminisce and share stories of childhood, university, travel, youth and hair rock (perhaps the secret to his youthful appearance!)
For close to 30 years, Winston took great pride in his career in Occupational Health and Safety. Roles at Great West Life, Canada Life, Pacific Blue Cross, and recently with Providence Health, boast of his accolades and leadership skills. His dedication to his career is shown in the mutual respect shared between him and his colleagues both past and present.
Winston’s love of food is well known and widely received. His thrill of feeding his family gorgeous dinners was tireless and each meal had the beautiful taste of love. He took great joy in posting his dinners and ingredients in his social media, often scoring the cover page in an online cookbook. This is no wonder as it often took him an extra 10 minutes to sit for dinner while he had photoshoots with each delicious meal.
Winston leaves behind to mourn his son Cameron, daughter Savannah, wife Jillian, sister Lorraine and family (Bradley, Joaquin, Gabriel), former spouse Valerie and the newest member of the family, their dog Bisou – the little white fluffball who stayed lovingly by his side.
Winston was predeceased by his mother and father (Ruth and Norman) and eldest sister (Judy). The ashes of his sweet little lady, Blue the Cavalier, have been sent to cremation, may they enjoy endless walks together for eternity.
A celebration of life is to follow in the upcoming weeks at The Jolly Coachman in Pitt Meadows. Date to be announced.
Winston, our profound love for you will continue here on Earth as we carry your memory in our hearts, living in gratitude for all you have shaped in each of our lives.
The family wishes for you to allow Winston’s light to shine bright as you recreate his tasty recipes and hang your hummingbird feeders to share food with his tiny little friends.
