With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth R. Barnes on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Royal Columbian Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Kitchener, Ont. He was the youngest of 5. He was predeceased by his son Steven, sister Gloria, brother Jack and parents Jean and Doug.
Ken is survived by his partner, Jennie; daughter Lisa (Nathan); brother Bill (Carol) and sister Bonnie (John); Grandchildren, Liam, Owen & Dee.
At a young age, Ken drove to BC and made the move to the West Coast. Ken had a passion for photography, was President of Royal Canadian Legion #48, volunteered within his complex, and had a fulfilling career with Dolphin Delivery. After retiring, he continued his passion for the open road and enjoyed vacations in the RV.
Ken will be missed by many and will live on in the memories of his family and friends.
By request, there will be no funeral service. In Ken’s memory, in lieu of flowers, please support your local Legion or consider a donation to the SPCA.
