Graham Lowther MacMillan

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dad Graham Lowther MacMillan, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Graham passed away on July 20, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Julie MacMillan (née Weeks), their children Matthew (Krystal), Suzie (Vic), Colin, and Alex (Carla), and his much-loved grandchildren Hailey, Connor, and Harrison. Graham is also remembered by his sister Heather (Robert) Biasio, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valerie and Hugh MacMillan.
Born and raised in Duncan, BC, Graham’s early years were marked by his enthusiasm for sports, including baseball in the Connie Mack League and lacrosse at Fuller Lake. He graduated from Cowichan Secondary and went on to marry our mom Julie on Sept 20, 1980. Together, they started a family and opened 4-Ways Store in Cowichan Bay. Recently, on July 9, our parents celebrated a renewed commitment to each other and renewed their marriage vows.
Graham found joy in gardening and was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and NASCAR. He also had a special place in his heart for his pets, including his beloved childhood orange cat Clint, and his many other furry friends.
Upon retiring at 70, Graham spent his time with family, gardening, watching sports, and making moose shaped pancakes for his grandchildren. His warmth, humour, and love for those around him will be deeply missed.
Family and close friends held a private ceremony to celebrate Graham’s life this past July. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favourite animal welfare charity.
