GERALDINE MARGUERITA PROCTOR (COOKY) – was born in Vancouver BC March 7, 1947 she left us on June 15, 2024 at the age of 77 after a lengthy battle with heart issues.
Cooky was predeceased by her husband Arthur Proctor, mother Nadine Gonzales, stepfather Harvey Gonzales, brother Micheal Haggarty and nephew Ryan Dick.
Cooky is survived by her siblings Adam Haggarty, Nadine Dick, Patrick Haggarty (Cathy) as well as her three children Mark Haggarty (Steve), Matthew Haggarty, Marla Champagne (Jayson) and grandchildren Chico Haggarty, Tiffany Camarda (Chris), Chad Haggarty, Melissa Haggarty, Jonathan Haggarty, Chyann Haggarty (Josh), Haley Champagne (Ashton), Jayla Champagne (Jevin) and great grandchildren Celia Henriquez, Danica Haggarty-Dube, Hunter MacDonald, Hope Haggarty, Abby Camarda, Nicholas Camarda, Grayson Bontron-Champagne as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cooky was born and raised in East Vancouver. Those who knew her well know she wore her heart on her sleeve and would open her home to many kids in the neighborhood making sure they always had a home cooked meal, a big hug, and a stern talking to if needed. Family was especially important to Cooky and there was no question that she was the glue that kept them together, she taught family traditions from her childhood that were passed on to her children’s families.
She was a warrior, fierce, and so strong but yet so gentle, may her legacy live on and she forever rest in peace.
A celebration of life will take place in July. Family and friends will be notified of the details as they become available.
