Emily lived a full life for 93 years, beginning as a farm girl in Churchbridge, SK, and living for most of her life in Pitt Meadows at the corner of Hammond and Blakely Roads. Her final years were in Maple Ridge at Greystone Manor and Holyrood Manor. She was married 45 years to the love of her life, Magnus.
They had three children, Joan born in 1953, Bob born in 1955, and Wendy born in 1958. She welcomed and loved the expansion of her family when Joan married Don, Wendy married Ken and Bob married Kathy. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their activities, Sarah with her dogs and Llamas, Jennifer and Jessica with their highland dance and Steve with his hockey. Her family could always count on her support.
She spent many years travelling with her sister Wilma. Good memories are her trip to Scotland, London and Paris with her two daughters and sister and a cruise to Alaska with Joan, Kathy and Sarah. She also enjoyed visiting Vegas with her niece Bernie and husband Mike. She also travelled with Joan and Wilma to Churchbridge and spent time with relatives and friends there.
She’ll be remembered for her love of family, gentle acceptance of everyone, open door generosity, great homecooked meals, the dynamic duo she was with her sister, her love of music, a mean game of Crib, her support of her children and grandchildren, sense of humor, role model and mentor to her children, and the special, one-of-a-kind lady she was.
