Bette ( Brooks ) Bunch – born in New Westminster BC Sept. 3, 1941 , passed away in her home on January 18, 2024 in Rocklin California.
Daughter of Joe and Nina Brooks of Maple Ridge BC. She is survived by her brother Robert (Bob) Brooks of Lethbridge AB.
Bette was trained as a Registered Nurse in the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster BC and worked in Sacramento CA for her entire career.
She married Andy Freitas in 1974 after an extended courtship. Andy passed in 1983 after a long battle with cancer. Bette will be placed beside him in the Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Bette remarried in 1999 to Duane Bunch of Rocklin CA. She shared a life with Duane and his extended family for 20 years. She cared for Duane through his illness as she did with Andy until his passing in October of 2020. Bette was a caregiver throughout her life and will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, friend and most of all a “mother” to all.
A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday February 15th at 11 am in the Reception Room of the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969 216 St Maple Ridge.
