WEBER, Bonnie

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bonnie Weber, at the age of 66, in Kelowna, B.C. She was surrounded by friends and family.
Bonnie was born in Calgary and spent most of her school years in Winnipeg. She was never a “prairie girl” at heart though, and when she met the love of her life, Eric Weber, their mutual love for the mountains soon drew them back to Calgary. A few years later, they moved to Vancouver for a period and then to Kelowna, where they spent the next 30 years together.
Bonnie’s zest for life and radiant personality built many long-lasting friendships wherever she went and with whoever she came into contact.
Her passion for travel led to her becoming a travel agent, a career she spent many successful years working at. When she decided a change of direction was in order, she left the travel industry and ran her own sunglass and reading glass wholesale company for some 25-plus years. She was very successful at this too, and she became known to family and friends as “the sunglass mogul”.
Bonnie grew up in a loving and close family. She was predeceased by her parents Ray and Charlotte Reinbold, her birth mother Leona Reinbold, her niece Taya Reinbold, her grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband Eric, her brothers; Greg (Pat) Reinbold, Derek Reinbold, Bret Reinbold, and her sister Tina (Tony) Zart, her nephews Shaun (Thao), Kyle (Jenn), Ryan Reinbold, Jordan Zart and her niece Megan Zart, and grandnephew and niece Landon & Kaydence Mattice. She also leaves behind her chosen family of Isabel Boedeker, Kiera and Mike Muncner and Tia and Jamie Schmidtke, all of whom she brought into her family circle also.
Bonnie always dreamed of travelling and over her lifetime, she and Eric made that dream come true. Bonnie loved to travel and managed to visit many countries, always coming home with interesting, often funny, stories to entertain friends and family with.
She was also a very talented artist. Bonnie took great joy in painting, and her days of painting and yakking with the girls in her painting group were the highlight of her week. Many friends and family proudly display her beautiful paintings.
She was a wonderful person, and her passing has left a huge hole in many hearts that will be difficult to heal. As has been said… the depth of the pain we feel on her passing is indicative of the love that we had for her…
As per her wishes, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, if anyone chooses to, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
