It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father Dharampal Singh Uppal, who left us on December 6, 2024, at the age of 86 in Kelowna, BC. He is survived by his wife Gurdev; sons Avtar (Kauri) and Amarjit (Gurjit); grandchildren Mandi, Nisha, Shane, Harvinder, and Rajvinder; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Born on September 12, 1938, in India, Dharampal lived a life filled with dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his values. A farmer at heart, he took immense pride in his work, demonstrating strength, resilience, and a relentless willpower that earned him the respect of all who knew him.
In 1993, Dharampal and his family moved from India to Canada, settling initially in MacKenzie, BC. Twenty years ago, they moved to Kelowna, where he continued to enjoy his life and contribute to the community with the same passion that had defined him.
Dharampal was known for his honesty, his strong work ethic, and his commitment to living an honest life. He left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm (PST), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, followed by Antam Ardas at Gurdwara Guru Amardas Darbar, 220 Davie Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view in 3-5 days.
