Obituary
With deep sadness and heavy hearts our family shares with you the passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather. Steve was born June 23, 1941, in Wayne, Alberta, and passed away in Kelowna, British Columbia, on October 24, 2023.
Lovingly remembered by his sons, Wayne (Linda), and Don (Maria); grandchildren, Cole (Nicole), and Kara (John); great-grandchildren, Avery, and Rylan; and brother, Dan (Dianne). Predeceased (2011) by his wife, Marjorie, of 50 years; parents, Jim, and Hazel Nadasde; brother, Jim (Alice); sisters, Cheryl, and Nila.
Dad loved to grow large gardens and take care of his fruit trees. He was a Canuck fan and enjoyed playing golf and bowling. Dad was very social, with a great sense of humour and a boisterous laugh. He had many friends, and although the encounters lessened over the years, Dad enjoyed seeing his acquaintances from his working days at Western Star. Dad had an uncanny memory, remembering all he grew up with in his hometown of East Coulee ALTA and everywhere he lived and worked. Dad was a great storyteller we enjoyed them.
Dad was a devoted husband who loved his wife, Marj. Dad cared for her through her long illness and the remaining years of her life. They are together again.
Dad was a very present father and was always there for us throughout our lives. Dad was involved in our sports, and other activities and was always the teacher. His entire life, Dad loved to hunt birds with his brothers in ALTA. Dad, Don, and I, shared a passion for the outdoors. We spent countless hours and days camping, hunting, and fishing. We fished the ocean, rivers, and lakes. Together, over a 50-year span, we hunted every region of BC, experiencing many adventures, successes, tribulations, and even sadness, however, more importantly during these experiences, Don, and I, were fortunate to learn about life with our father. These traditions continue.
Dad was a man in every sense of the word. Over the past year, he fought a courageous battle. It was not how he died that defined him, it was the remarkable way he lived… Dad truly is our hero!
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Rua, Dr. Amego, Dr. Adams, and NP Crystal at KGH and Kelowna Hospice for their kind care.
