PENNINGA, Hendrick “Hank”
July 2, 1946 — October 18, 2023
Sadly, we announce the passing of Hank Penninga, born in Germany on July 2, 1946 and passed away October 18, 2023, in Kelowna, BC, Canada.
Hank brought a great work ethic to his craft as a butcher; his shop with the bull on the roof was a local landmark in Winfield for many years. He had a wonderful sense of humour in the workplace and at home.
Hank will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cheryl; his son, Gary, & daughter-in-law, Deb, and his grandchildren Rhys and Eva; his son Keith daughter-in-law Naoko; and his daughter LeeAnn Adams, and his grandchildren Jessica, Erik, and Emily; as well as his sister, Ruth, & brother-in-law, Mo Umran.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at WINFIELD MEMORIAL HALL: 10130 Bottom Wood Lake Rd, Lake Country, BC.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of PENNINGA Hendrick “Hank July 2 1946 — October 18 2023 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
I was very sad to discover that Hank has passed away. As a Norwegian I came in contact with Hank through our common interest in trains.
In 2012 we met in person for the first time when I visited Canada with 3 friends, we met in his butcher shop in Kelowna, drove together to his home,
visited Grey Monk, and drove to Vernon and gave lunch to Hank and Cheryl before driving to the mountains. In 2014 me and my wife visited
Canada again, had dinner with Hank and Cheryl in their home. Later had contact through e-mail.
Condolences to Cheryl and the rest of Hanks family!
