Obituary
In Loving Memory of Patricia “Pattie” Marie Rose Carr (nee Arsenault)
Patricia “Pattie” Marie Rose Carr (nee Arsenault), formerly of West Kelowna, peacefully passed away at Kelowna General Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 64 years. Pattie was a cherished wife, stepmother, sister, and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and adventure.
Pattie attended Université Sainte-Anne Campus de Halifax and was a proud Acadian, deeply rooted in her love for her home province of P.E.I. She dedicated many years to the oil and gas industry, working diligently in the accounting department, and was stationed in Calgary, Alberta.
Pattie’s true passion was the great outdoors. She was an avid hiker, kayaker, camper, and explorer. Her adventurous spirit led her to climb the first mountain of her life, Mt. Yamnuska in Canmore, Alberta, which ignited a love for mountaineering. Together with her beloved husband, Richard, she traveled the world, creating unforgettable memories. From touching the dragon’s nose in Cat Ba Island, Vietnam, to hiking the Hinterland in Australia, enjoying the Waikite Valley Thermal Pools in New Zealand, nature walks on Vantueand New Caledonia Islands in the South Pacific, and witnessing an active volcano on the big island of Hawaii, Pattie embraced every moment of her journeys. She also toured, camped, and sailed in Europe, Asia, Canada, and the United States, making the most of her adventurous spirit.
Above all, Pattie cherished her family. She loved visiting her sisters in P.E.I and Oklahoma, USA, and socializing with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard John Carr; stepdaughter, Jessica (Steven) Mary Semenec; granddaughter, Brooklyn Monika Semenec; brothers, Elmer Arsenault of Summerside, P.E.I, Urban Arsenault of Bonnyville, AB, and Rodger Arsenault of Coldlake, AB; sisters, Paulette Doucette of Bedford, NS, Noella (Fred) Raines of Coleman, Oklahoma, USA, and Mona (George) Arsenault-Krasavac of Dartmouth, NS, along with numerous extended family and friends.
Pattie was predeceased in death by her parents, Phil and Therese Arsenault, brother, Ivan Arsenault, and brother-in-law, Brian Doucette.
The family will be announcing details for a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering a donation in Pattie’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nurses and caregivers of Kelowna General Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Pattie’s time of need. Pattie’s adventurous spirit and unwavering love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, her spirit forever alive in the hearts of those she touched.
