It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Michael Buchner, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 65.
Michael was born in Kelowna, BC. His family moved to many various places before they returned to Kelowna permanently. At the age of 17 Michael met and fell in love with his wife Sandy and they spent the next 48 years together. With a career as an IT Manager, Michael was known for his sharp mind and problem-solving skills, which extended beyond work into his personal life as he renovated homes and fixed cars with ease. A true handyman, he could repair anything, and was quick to lend a helping hand to friends and family. Michael was kind-hearted and funny, always keeping himself busy with various projects or hobbies.
He found joy in golfing, often hitting the greens five days a week, where he created close friendships and shared many laughs. Michael also enjoyed video gaming, diving into adventures in Halo and Assassin’s Creed during his downtime. Above all else, he cherished his family and many friends, especially his wife, his daughter Michelle and his brothers, who were the centre of his world.
Michael’s warmth, humour, and constant energy will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Service in Michael’s honour will be held on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2024, at 1:00 PM (PST), located at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
