Richard Dickie passed away in Kamloops, BC on November 14th, 2024.
Richard served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and later completed a two-year Aircraft Engineering Diploma. He was a member of the Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Association and had Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Aircraft Licenses.
Richard was awarded the Canadian Star of Courage, a bravery medal for a heroic rescue during a propane truck gas explosion near Salmon Arm in June of 1984.
Richard’s father Captain Richard F. Dickie served in the Lincoln and Welland Regiment in WW 11 and was killed in Holland in 1945. His mother Dora I. Gould of Welland, Ontario re-married after the war to Captain George R. Parry.
Richard and wife Maria Dickie (Beaudoin, deceased) is survived by their son, Parry Dickie of Kamloops and cherished granddaughter Amy, brothers and sisters of the Parry and Beaudoin families and cousins of the Gould, Carl and Dickie families.
Richard and Maria resided in Kamloops B.C. in their retirement, where they had many friends in aviation. They are fondly remembered.
