David (Dave)Stanley Robertson of Kamloops B.C. passed peacefully with his wife Sandra and son Sean by his side after a lengthy illness from (PSP) Progressive supranuclear palsy on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 71.
David was born to David and Gwendolyn Robertson on February 26, 1952, in Duncan, B.C. David was the youngest of three children. When David was still young his family moved to Victoria B.C. where they resided in Oak Bay. He attended Willows Elementary and Oak Bay High School and took Piano Lessons from a neighbor. In 1972 he began working for the B.C. Forest Service and eventually became the Forest Region Cruising Coordinator.
Working first in Victoria, then Prince Rupert and finally settling in Kamloops. He loved working in the forest among the trees and did so for 35 years. His passion was talking to people; after retiring, he worked for Home Depot in Kamloops for another 14 years. First and foremost, David loved people and conversations. He had great affection for his many pets, his first cat Nipper, and his many dogs. Chase and Sweetpea survive him. Fabulous at painting, drawing, woodworking, raising rabbits, and gardening, (a man of many talents) he was!
He also kept a great collection of Clive Cussler books. Being an avid reader. David was a very caring and loving father to his Autistic son Sean. David is survived by his wife Sandra Robertson, his son Sean Robertson, his stepson Peter Gubbins, his stepdaughter Karen (Ryan) Beddington, sisters Heather and Lynda (John) and their families. He is predeceased by his parents David and Gwendolyn Robertson. David’s ashes will be scattered throughout the province of B.C. as he had fond memories of many places.
