Darryl Keith Barker, age 90, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops, B.C. Keith was born to Horace and Evelyn Barker on April 9, 1933 in Kamloops, B.C. He was very active throughout his life, enjoying his free time doing many indoor and outdoor activities. Keith kept himself in such good physical condition that, for example, he was able to play curling (on ice) until he was 82 years old, and when he finally gave it up he switched over to floor curling and enjoyed that for several more years. He was married to his wife, Betty, for 56 years and had many wonderful memories and a great family life with her and their daughter, Sharon, and, later on, their grandson, Adam – he was always there for his daughter and grandson, whether he was attending their sporting events and music recitals, taking them on camping and fishing trips, playing board games and cards, or spoiling them with ice cream treats!
Keith is survived by his daughter, Sharon, and his grandson, Adam. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty, who passed away in 2019.
Keith’s family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Aberdeen Glen Village, #77 – 1555 Howe Road, Kamloops, B.C.
