Mark SEDROVIC Obituary
Mark Edward Sedrovic, “Sid”, passed away peacefully at home June 3, 2024, after a hard, lengthy battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). Mark was born June 3, 1964, in Fernie, BC.
Mark was predeceased by his mother, Rose, father Eddie, and fur baby/best friend Koda. Left to mourn his loss, the love of his life for 15 years Shaune, his daughters Dusty (Tyson), and Stephanie (Patrick), his son Clayton (Sky), and stepchildren Nathan, Kyle (Theresa), and Emily (Dallas), as well as many grandchildren, extended relatives, and lifelong friends.
Mark worked at the Elko Sawmill for 29 years. In those years, he made sure the dirt bike track was immaculate for the kids in his spare time at work. Mark was known for his one-of-a-kind personality. He was there for you whether you needed a laugh or a shoulder to cry on. You could always find Mark somewhere in the bush as he was an avid outdoorsman who found immense joy and excitement in camping, hunting, fishing, dirt biking, snowmobiling and side by siding. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, often spending early mornings by the water’s edge or deep in the woods, sharing his love of the outdoors with family and friends. Mark’s knowledge of local wildlife and the backroads was admired by all who knew him. He cherished the time he spent teaching his children the skills and patience needed for fishing and hunting, creating countless cherished memories along the way. His stories of the “big one that got away” and his infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of joining him on his many outdoor adventures.
On May 13, 2009, he met Shaune, and in 10 short days they fell in love, and she moved from the Coast to be with him. Through the last 15 years Mark shared his hobbies with Shaune, always having a seat with him wherever the adventure took them.
Mark was diagnosed with the rare disease PSP on February 28, 2020. The disease started to increase rapidly within the last 5 years. Shaune stood by his side forming an even more unbreakable bond, caring for him every day and loving him until his last breath. They say people with PSP are warriors and so are their loved ones.
Mark was one of a kind, touching many lives in his short 60 years. The Celebration of Life will be updated at a later date.
The family would like to thank the care aides and nurses for their amazing care and compassion. A big shout out to Shaune for the unconditional care, joy and love she showed Mark until the end.
