Lois Pauline Johnston, born February 19, 1953, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, to Eric and Margaret Flack, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the age of 71. She was surrounded by her loving family, just as she wanted.
Lois graduated from Vanier Collegiate in 1971 and went on to build a life filled with love, adventure, and countless cherished memories. She was blessed with two daughters, Natalie in August 1977 and Jodi in May 1980. In 1988, she found the love of her life, Collin. They ran off to Las Vegas in 1991 to get married, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
In 1996, Lois and Collin embraced a new adventure, moving west to Cranbrook, British Columbia, where they made their home for over 25 years.
Lois thrived in the outdoors, spending summers gardening, fishing, and camping alongside Collin. Always looking for that summer glow, you would find her basking in the warmth of the sun on their back deck. Winters were filled with cozy moments watching Hallmark movies, tackling home projects (probably painting something), playing cards with friends, and cheering on her beloved grandchildren at their hockey games.
Her family was her greatest pride and joy. Lois’s love and devotion to her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. She held an unwavering place in their hearts and will be remembered as a source of unconditional love and encouragement.
To her friends, Lois was a constant source of warmth, laughter, and companionship. Joan, Mary-Jean, Faye, and Twyla, your steadfast friendship brought her immeasurable happiness, and her family is forever grateful for the joy you brought into her life.
Lois is predeceased by her father, Eric; her mother, Margaret; her sisters, Joanne and Sharon; and her brother, Ron. She is survived by her devoted husband, Collin; her daughters, Natalie (Roman, Nicholas, and Brayden) and Jodi (Bart, Troy, and Jade); as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Lois’s love, strength, and kindness will remain with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Look for me in Rainbows
Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me,
As you know I loved you.
Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset,
When all the world is through.
Just look for me and love me,
And I’ll be close to you.
It won’t be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you,
When we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and
All your whole life through
Just look for me and love me,
As you know I loved you.
Just wish me to be near you,
And I’ll be there with you.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian pulmonary fibrosis foundation Lois’s memory.
