It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen Cynthia McKinlay announce her passing on October 23, 2024. Cynthia was born in beautiful Kimberley B.C. to parents Bill and Doreen Jones. She grew up on townsite and earned a teaching degree from UBC. After graduating she went on to enjoy a long career teaching both on the coast and in Kimberley. She met and married Dave McKinlay and had two sons, Doug and Dean. She deeply enjoyed nature and wildlife, and gardening was her other passion. Her beautiful smile, her love, and her strength will remain in our hearts forever.
Cynthia is survived by her son Dean McKinlay, daughter in law Heather McKinlay, and grandchildren Sean and Hailey McKinlay and Scott Ewen.
She was predeceased by her husband David McKinlay, son Doug, and her brother Gar Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
