Ernst Willem Reisner
January 25, 1932 – June 26, 2024 (92 years)
Ernie is survived by his wife, Chris, son Sid and daughter Kim (Wayne), as well as 3 grandchildren, Shelby, Tessa and Ella. He is also survived by his sister, Cecilia, in Kentucky as well as nieces and nephews.
Ernie was born in 1932 in the city of Surabaia on the island of Java, Indonesia. After the second world war, he moved to Dutch New Guinea, and in 1956 he decided to move to Holland.
He met Chris on the ship going to Holland. They married in 1960 and in 1963 their son Sid was born. In 1966, when Sid was 3 years old, they decided to immigrate to Canada. Immigration advised them to move to Calgary where lots of jobs were available. In 1973 their daughter Kim was born. After Ernie retired, they decided to move to Vancouver Island in 2003. In June of this year, they were married 64 years.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and careworkers who took good care of Ernie. They would also like to express appreciation for all the flowers, cards, and phone calls from many friends and neighbours.
