George Nicholas Bylica
October 25, 1937 – July 17, 2024
George Nicholas Bylica was born on October 25, 1937, to Steve and Rose Bylycia. He was born and raised in Prince George, BC, alongside his three siblings: Rum, Mary, and Elsie. George passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Myrt, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Known for his quick wit, famous one-liners, and affectionately calling himself “the tough old goat,” George could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. He had two children, Steve and Kim (Dean), and five stepchildren: Darrell (Bob), Charryll (Rick), Randy (Dayna), Sandy (Dee), and Andy (Sheri). As a proud grandpa and great grandpa, affectionately called “Papa” by his many grandchildren, he delighted in sharing stories of his “wild years,” his love for motorcycles, driving fast, and fishing. He took every opportunity to brag about his grandkids, who he loved so much.
George’s kindness, hard work, and love for his family were evident to all who knew him. His faithful furry companion, Schatzi, will miss him dearly. His legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will continue to inspire and bring joy to his family and friends.
Special thanks to the staff at Castleview Care Home for looking after our dad. George will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Take it easy, Pops. We know you’ll “take it any way you can get it.”
