Phyllis Gray Obituary
Phyllis passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 1 at Jackson House, Ashcroft.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Phil, Evelyn Meredith-Jones (Greg) Grant, Kathy Paulos (Moses), and Geri Russell (Todd), along with her 15 much-loved grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Colleen Mierau (Frank) and Verna Lacchini, sister-in-law Dean Robertson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was born and raised in Ashcroft and had wonderful memories of growing up with her parents, Phil and Muriel Parke, and her 4 siblings and established lifelong friendships in the community. She was an active member of the Zion Church and Pavilion Upper Hat Creek Women’s Institute. Phyllis was always available to lend a hand when needed and was a familiar face for many years during Christmas hamper time!
Mom loved to feed people, including her family and friends, which included her dream job at the Ashcroft and District Hospital, where she was a dietary aide for over 16 years.
After retirement, she was able to travel the world with family and friends to such places as Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Hawaii, and Mexico.
Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Roger and sister Muriel.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the wonderful staff of Home Care, Thompson View Lodge, and Jackson House.
A celebration of life will be announced later and held in the spring.
