Rodney Edward Hamilton
November 13th, 1949 – July 14th, 2024
We are all saddened by the loss of our brother, uncle, great-uncle, and beloved friend who fell asleep quietly in his favourite chair and happily logged into his laptop on Sunday, July 14th, 2024, at the age of 74 years.
Rod is survived by his sisters Sharon Anderson (Lorne), Judy Fowler (Steve), and Laurie Hamilton; nephews and nieces Laine Anderson (Krista), Alden Anderson, Jason Hamilton, and Lynette Marchesi (Matt); great-nephews and nieces Haylee, Sydney, Shaey, Hulaina, Chas, Alex, Amelia, Toni-Lynn, Ivan, Samuel, Soyer and Jayla; great-great nieces Lexi, Danika, Emberly, and Ava.
Rod was predeceased by his father Carl Hamilton; mother Bernice Hamilton; niece Maureen Geisler; nephew Calvin Anderson; and his great-niece Ashtyn Anderson.
Rod was honoured to perform in military re-enactments with his favourite group of people and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of antique museums and anything involved with World War II memorabilia. Rod enjoyed building every and any type of military model and had a vast collection of war-era memorabilia. He was always a very quiet gentleman and anyone that knew him will remember his quirky personality and gentle smile.
In his honour, although he was never able to enlist in the military, it was his dream but medically he could not join, we believe Rod would love to have any donations in his memory go to the Last Post Fund or the Canadian Legion of your choice to support the veterans of all ages in our Canadian communities for serving our country.
A memorial event is planned for the future and details are forthcoming.
