Richard “Rick” Welch Obituary
Richard (Rick) Welch passed away at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre with his wife of 50 years, Marie by his side. He is also survived by his sons Shaun and Colin (Lindsay); grandsons Beckett and Kellan; sisters Elaine and June; and nieces Gina, Kelly, Wendy, Allana, Allyson, Spring, Dawn, and Fern. Also grieving Rick’s passing are his extended family and friends.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Gladys and Andrew; and his brother Andy.
Rick worked at the Rendezvous Center at Centennial Center from shortly after his family moved to Ponoka until his retirement in 2010. This job was a perfect fit for his outgoing personality, and he was affectionately referred to as Rendezvous Rick by both patients and staff.
In lieu of flowers donations in Rick’s name can be made to Saving Grace Animal Society or Old MacDonald Kennels.
A Memorial Service for Rick will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Ponoka Funeral Home. The service will be livestream broadcast on the video viewer below.
