1952 – 2024
With great sadness, the Karpowich Family announces the passing of Kenneth Henry Karpowich on August 4th, 2024, at 72 years old (aka 18 years in Ken’s world).
He is survived by his wife and soul mate Marj Karpowich; children Dwight Karpowich, Chris (Karie) Karpowich, Kimberly (Darren) Taylor; along with grandchildren Kaydence and Ana Karpowich; loving sister Shirley Grinde; brother-in-law Peter (Jan) Schraven; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be cherished in the memories of many cousins, and friends he had made.
He was predeceased by his parents Henry Karpowich and Julie Grinde; uncle Joe Filas; mother and father-in-law Burt and Hendrika Schraven; brothers-in-law Frank and Casey Schraven; and sister-in-law Patsy Schraven.
To carry on Ken’s love of learning and teaching, the family will set up a scholarship for the continued mechanics education of a student from Pigeon Lake High School.
In lieu of flowers, this scholarship will be set up with the Battle River Community Foundation, if you wish to donate to this cause.
To celebrate this amazing man, there will be a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin.
A celebration will follow at the Royal Order Of Moose Lodge, Wetaskiwin.
