Edith Noble Obituary
Joan Noble passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital on July 13, 2024.
She was born in Vegreville, Alberta, to Edith and Fred Reishus. Her early years were in Ranfurly, before moving to Viking for the remainder of her childhood.
Joan trained as a nurse in Lamont. Shortly after marrying Harry Noble, she became a full-time mother and homemaker to 3 incredibly grateful children – Robert, Nancy, and Jeff, as well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sadly, Harry passed away in 2003.
Community involvement was incredibly important to Joan. She was active in Kinsmen, Kinettes, K40s, Ponoka Museum Society, and the Ponoka Stampede Association. Once her children had grown, she worked for Elections Canada and Stats Can.
She loved to cook, travel, play cards, collect antiques, read, and spend time at the cabin.
Any day was a great day to open her door to friends, neighbours and new acquaintances alike. There was always enough food, drink, and conversation to share.
She was incredibly kind, warm, and supportive. She never complained. Her thoughts were always filled with the concern of those she loved.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home.
If you are unable to attend and wish to offer a memorial, please feel welcome to donate to a local charity of your choice.
