As we celebrate her life and are grateful for the memories, we say goodbye to our Mother, Baba, Great Baba and friend Steffie Miskiw, of Vegreville, formerly of Myrnam. Steffie passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Friday, May 31, 2024.
Steffie is survived by her 3 daughters Beverly (Jeff) Scales of Calgary, Doreen (Paul) Ferguson of Minneapolis and Debbie Miskiw of Edmonton; 5 grandchildren Adam (Marieke) Scales, Grant (Nicole) Scales, Alanna (Graham) Scales, Brittney (Corey) Gunderson and Connor (Kelly) Ferguson; 4 great grandchildren Pia and Jack Scales, Josie Budd and Brodie Ferguson; as well as numerous friends and relatives. Steffie was predeceased by her husband Peter; 2 daughters in infancy; her parents John and Anne Chmilar, and sister Olga.
A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Vegreville with Basilian Fathers officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery.
The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care provided by the many caregivers who looked after Mom during the past two years while she struggled with dementia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories or Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church – Vegreville.
