Obituary
William Hugh Coulter (Hughie), 69, of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on December 9th, 2023, in his sleep at home.
Hugh was born on June 3rd, 1954, to Bill and Betty Coulter in Imperial Saskatchewan.
After graduation, Hugh completed his welding at Kelsey Institute (SIAST). He worked many years in the oil and farming industry before moving to Red Deer, Alberta, where he worked as a truck driver. He finished his career driving transportation at Michener Services.
Family meant more to Hugh than anything else in the world, and he was unendingly proud of his three kids, Justin (Sonny boy), Nadine (Dino), and Valerie (Sweetpea) and made this known to everyone he talked to.
Hugh was passionate about flying and obtained his pilot’s license in the early 1980s. He could often be found performing aviation stunts with anyone brave enough to sit copilot. He had a love for muscle cars and collected many over the years. He enjoyed taking his family for Sunday drives in his panther pink duster and blowing the doors off anyone willing to race him.
Anyone who knew Hugh knew he was the most loving father and grandfather a family could ask for. Hugh was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Betty Coulter. He will be dearly missed by his brother Gerald, sister Colleen, children Justin, Nadine (Riley) and Valerie (Ryan) and grandchildren Ryan, Kara, Jaxon and Bodie.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, with a date to be announced. The family requests that in place of flowers, donations be made in memory of Hugh Coulter to the Red Deer Dream Centre at www.rddc.ca.
