Obituary
Leon was predeceased by his father Earl Riopel.
Survived by his loving wife Nita Riopel; Mother Sharron Dowland; son Blair; step-daughters Shayla and Haley Nelson; brother Jeff Riopel; sisters Donna Riopel and Renee Hilton; along with many relatives, friends, and his sidekick Ruby.
Leon was born into this world on November 14, 1979, as a sweet, outdoor loving little boy. He spent a lot of time with his mother, grandmother, and grandpa fishing and camping.
Leon was very well liked during his primary and high school years by all his peers. Leon was drawn to the rig life, however, soon knew it wasn’t for him. He went back to college and pursued a lifelong career as a welder, and a fine one he was. Leon was very artistic and precise, which was evident in all his work.
In 2015 he met the love of his life Nita. They met on Facebook, and a week later they finally seen each other. We both felt like best friends, my partner, my soul mate, and the love of my life. We got married on July 11, 2020, which was the best day of our lives. So magical, Babe was wise, kind, loving, very stubborn, clever, fearless, and so much more.
