Rodney Edward Baerwald Obituary
Rodney Edward Baerwald “Dad” “Jeeps” was set free and left us to join the love of his life on the morning of August 30, 2024.
Rodney was born in Empress, Alberta, to Rueben and Edna (Cockx) Baerwald.
He is survived by his three daughters, Shannon (Doug), Sherri (Shane), and Shelley (Jeffrey). He also leaves behind his brother Reg (Joan) Baerwald, and his sister Pat Rayner (Tom). He is predeceased by his wife Brenda, son Shaun, grandson Jacob and granddaughter Sasha.
Dad took his family on many adventures, from living in the Yukon, to many camping trips in the bush. After retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed trips to Mexico and to the East Coast.
He called Strathmore home for over 40 years. He had a long career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the mines of Cassiar, Husky, as well as the Town of Strathmore, from there he also did trucking for Eagle Lake Nurseries.
Dad never fully recovered after losing Mom. He is now wrapped in her arms and finally at peace.
As per his wishes, there will be no formal service held, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
