January 12, 1949 – December 9,2023
We are heartbroken to announce Richard James Cody passed peacefully in our family home on December 9, 2023 at the age of 74.
Richard is predeceased by his Mother Grace Balderson, Father Don Cody, brother’s Floyd and Allen Cody, and sister Janice Bell.
He is survived by his loving wife Jackie Cody, daughters Stephanie (Neil) Cody, Deborah (Shawn) Dunbar, his loving grandchildren Kaitlyn, Makayla, Hayley and Dylan and siblings Linda (Neil) Cody-Managhan, Tim (Joan) Cody, and David (Shonda) Cody as well as many nieces and nephews.
Richard and Jackie were married December 1st, 1973 in Milk River. They moved to Strathmore in 1990 where they raised their family. Richard was very well known in the community. He spent many years managing the local Co-op and finished his career at Rona. He was involved in the Strathmore Ag Society and the Curling Club. His love for curling and golf made him very well know. You could often find him spending his time coaching kids at the curling club. He will be truly missed by everyone.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Strathmore Alliance Church at 3:00 pm on December 15, 2023.
