Lyle Stewart McMillan Obituary
Lyle Stewart McMillan, age 88, of Cold Lake, Alberta, passed away on May 2, 2024, in Strathmore, Alberta. He was born on April 19, 1936. Lyle was a devoted farmer who cherished the land throughout his entire life. In addition to farming, he supported his agricultural pursuits with his work as a Postmaster and in office roles.
Lyle was a man of faith and worshiped at the Strathmore Kingdom Hall. He found joy in music, playing the piano, dancing, caring for his beloved Arabian horses, swimming, and playing cards. He never missed a farm auction and won his share of bids. He also excelled as a gifted storyteller with precise dates and events
He is survived by his loving wife Germaine McMillan, his children Ernie McMillan (Kim), Shelley Fowler (Tim), Naomi Leclerc (Yoland), daughter-in-law Brenda Bodnar, brother Wayne McMillan (Joanne), sister Marilyn Hrycauk (Walter), as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by his father Harold McMillan, mother Vivienne McMillan, sister Jeanette Kile (Ken), and son Les McMillan.
A service to honor and celebrate Lyle’s life will be held on May 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Strathmore Civic Centre. Wheatland Funeral Home in Strathmore, Alberta, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
