It is with loving memory that we announce that Lee Smith, aged 52, passed away Thursday, October 31st, 2024 in Strathmore, Alberta.
Lee was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1972 to his mother Francis (Fran) Smith and father Robert (Bob) Smith. They welcomed his sister Karen, the following year. At age 5, they moved to Stettler, Alberta, where Lee spent his childhood excelling in and learning his love for sports including baseball, football, golf and hockey. At the age of 18, he moved back to Calgary to obtain education and play football for the Calgary Colts. He gained his diploma in Civil Engineering Technology at SAIT and had a lifelong career as a well planner for several oil and gas companies. In 2004, he moved to Langdon, Alberta with his family where he developed a contracting company and continued building his life with his family. He then moved to Strathmore in 2008, where he raised his three children and was an instrumental part of the Strathmore sporting communities.
He was predeceased by his father Bob Smith, whom he loved dearly, and he is survived by his three children: Jenna aged 24, Gavin aged 21 and Samantha aged 14; mother Fran; sister Karen; nephew Hunter and mother of his children Paula. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and his community.

A memorial to celebrate his life will take place on
Friday, November 8, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.
Hope Community Covenant Church
245 Brent Boulevard, Strathmore, Alberta
followed by a lunch to share stories in each other’s company and honour his memory.
There will be a celebration of life following in Stettler, in the Spring.
Donations in Lee’s memory are gratefully accepted to a charity of your choice.
