Henry Schiffner, beloved husband/father/grandfather/great-grandfather passed away at the age of 92 on January 14, 2024 at the Stettler hospital. He was born October 2, 1931, in Bassano Alberta and lived near Cluny till his family moved to the Stettler area in 1941. He attended both Blumenau and Botha schools until 1947. Careers include farm hand, logger, furniture store clerk, Oil & Gas worker, bus driver, and farmer (his favorite) before retiring in 2000. He resided on his beloved farm for 63 years where he mixed farmed, raised 6 children with his wife Laura of 57 years, and enjoyed his retirement.
Henry is survived by his wife of 57 years Laura Schiffner of Stettler; children: Steve Schiffner (Connie) of Lacombe, Greg Schiffner of Drayton Valley, Hal Schiffner (Christine) of Olds, Wanda Kim (Yong) of Airdrie, Lisa Park (Gord) of Red Deer and Blair Schiffner of Airdrie; grandchildren: Neil and Lawrence Schiffner, Reanne Wagner, Jeff Lawrence, Derek and Brooklyn Park, Nicholas Kim, Andrew Schiffner, Madison Schiffner, Morgan Schiffner; great grandchildren: Vinah Schiffner, Deklin Lawrence, Jerius Hunt; other numerous family members (nieces, nephews, etc) and many dear friends.
Henry was predeceased by his mother Amalia Schiffner; father Henry Schiffner; brothers Bill Schiffner and Jake Schiffner; sisters Hilda Mercer and Milly Handyside and grandson Ryan Hunt.
