Chad Haustein
It is with tremendous sadness to announce the passing of our son, husband, brother and uncle, Chadwin Douglas Haustein of Hanna, in the Red Deer Hospital, on August 6, 2024, with his parents and sister by his side.
Chad is survived by his loving wife, Kumiko Imai of Yokohama Japan; parents Doug & Bernadette Haustein of Erskine; brothers Calvert (Amanda) and Conlee (Lorelyn), Haustein both of Erskine; sister Cremona (Cornel) Primrose of Mount Stewart P.E.I.; grandmother Connie Haustein of Nevis; sister-in-law Akiko (Yutaka) Ogawa, and his brother-in-law Yasuo Imai of Japan.
Chad also leaves to mourn all his nieces & nephews, Bryson, Rayell, Jaydon, Aryann, Dryton, & Khylin Haustein; Careese & Ceaxna Primrose; Haylah & Hadley Haustein; Wataru, Satoshi, & Makoto Imai; many of them were his favorite card playing opponents.
Chad was predeceased by his grandfather Gerhart Haustein (2010), and his grandparents Nanning (1985) & Irene (1995) Van Straten.
Chad was born October 21, 1975. He attended school at Erskine for nine years, then three more years of high school at William E Hay Composite in Stettler. He studied hard and achieved prestigious position of Valedictorian at the grade 12 Graduation. Chad received the APEGGA Scholarship to attend the University of Alberta. There he accomplished a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, and a master’s degree in business administration.
Chad worked in Japan in his early career and met his future wife Kumiko Imai. They married December 31, 2000.
Chad has taught English in Japan, and he himself learnt to speak Japanese.
Other employment has been in London Ontario, and Hanna Alberta, doing accounting and or data entry.
Chad’s hobby was downloading movies and television shows and sports events from the internet so that he could watch them later without commercials.
He loved pets, including the farm dogs & cats, and he had favorite pet farm dairy cows.
His most enjoyable pastime was playing card games with family. His favorite games were 500 & Crib, but also enjoyed many different board games. If it was challenging, he was at his glory.
