On April 21, 2024 Velma Rose Anderson of Edmonton, Alberta, formerly of Saddle Lake, Alberta, passed away at the age of 70 years. She is survived by her grandsons, Sylvain & Cael Anderson ; granddaughter, Shawnte Anderson; 2 sons, Joseph (Sabrina) Anderson & George Anderson; children she also has raised, Dawn (Douglas) Anderson, Rick Anderson & Jesse (Kaia) Anderson; siblings, Theresa (Peter) Jackson, Patsy (Greg) Hysell, Linda Stone, Ron Stone & Lorraine Stone; numerous nieces, nephews, 33 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. Velma was predeceased by her father, Frank Anderson (1977); mother, Mary Jane Samson (2009); granddaughter, Angel; daughter-in-law, Crystal Favel; 3 sisters in infancy. A Wake will be held on Wednesday, May 1 (leaving Grace Gardens at 3:00 p.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake.
