Donald’s Obituary
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa Don.
His love of the north country kept him here for a lifetime.
Dad is survived by his children: Son Calvin (Tina) of Grande Prairie; Daughters Wanda Leighton of Marten Beach; Patricia Lewis of Medicine Hat. Eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. His brothers David of Edmonton; Tom (Jean) of Grande Prairie; sisters Dorothy Honeysett of Calgary; Shirley (Ernie) Kruetzfeld of Ponoka; uncle Glen Gant of Kelowna BC; brothers in law Alvin Johnson of Cochrane; Paul (Bonnie) Johnson of Parksville, BC; Gordon (Anna Mae) Johnson of Cochrane; sister in law Elaine (Dennis) Stanley of Rimbey; Margaret Johnson of Edmonton; Terry Johnson of Wetaskiwin. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his wife Ruth, his parents Reg and Mary; sister Elizabeth McNeil; son in law Randy Leighton; sisters in law Oda, Joyce, Lois, Gerry; brothers in law Jim, David, Donald, Allen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Slave Lake Native Friendship Centre, October 5th, 2024 at 1:00pm.
A Special thank you to Dr. Lawall, the nurses and staff of the Slave Lake Hospital.
