It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark McKellar on November 15, 2023.
Mark will be forever loved and missed by his girlfriend Veronica, mom Betty, sister Leanne and his many friends. Mark was preceded in death by his dad Ian in 2020.
Mark touched the lives of many people through his kindness and humour. He had countless friends that he met through Lee Ridge elementary school, Edith Rogers Jr. High school and J. Percy Page High school that he remained lifelong friends with. As well, Mark had made numerous friends through the different jobs that he had worked throughout his lifetime. From his very first job at age 11 as a paperboy delivering for the Edmonton Sun, to his most recent position at London Drugs and everywhere in between Mark had formed lasting friendships with his colleagues.
Mark was someone who was very passionate about his hobbies. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting and painting lead miniatures to play Warhammer. He was also an avid movie fanatic ever since first watching Star Wars at a drive-in movie theatre as a young boy. He was also a music fan who enjoyed spending time listening to music together with his friends.
Mark had met the love of his life, Veronica, 5 years ago. They had a long distance relationship through much of their time together. Veronica had recently moved to Edmonton with her 3 children Liam, Lucas and Liev to begin their new life together as a family.
A memorial service for Mark will take place at Park Place Funeral Home, 51 Broadway Blvd. Sherwood Park, AB, T8H-2C1 on Sunday November 26, 2023 at 2:00pm.
Mark had a great love for cats, and had many throughout his lifetime. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s honour to the Edmonton Humane Society.
