Janis Johanna (Denesik) Fontaine was born in and raised in Edmonton, AB. She met Reginald Fontaine, her husband of 57 years on a blind date. Mother to Greg (Jody), Blair, Marla (Keith), and grandmother to Emme, Tessa, Connor, Aiden, Ryder and Carter. Janis passed away on August 22nd, 2024 after a win versus cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully with her family.
Janis is known to be a happy person who was full of life. She devoted her life to her kids, grandkids and all lucky enough to be close to her. She loved to sew, make crystal balls, her wind chimes, play pickle ball, travel, and spend time at the family cabin. She was known across the world for the cookies she baked.
Janis was a wonderful wife, the best mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
