It is with deep sorrow, and much love that we mourn the passing of René Osmani Diakité in Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the age of 21 years. This young boy was born on Thursday, April 17, 2003 in Montreal, Québec, and at the heart of it all, he was an artist. He was a kind, caring and giving individual who had the ability to connect on a personal level with each and every person he encountered. He expressed himself through many mediums, teaching himself to play the guitar, capture high level photography, and editing complex videos. For a period of time, he dabbled in the art of professional gaming and captivated the attention of many. René was a very regimented individual, dedicating time to honing his body, his diet, working on his personal projects, and had a history of working with an organization advocating for people of color. In his time with this organization, he inspired many, and will continue to do so. In the world of hospitality, René took on the role of a Service Industry professional by providing his skills as a bartender. Elevating guests’ experiences through the attentive and unmatched service he provided, he formed a meaningful connection with everybody who crossed his path. He expressed a very special kind of love for his friends, and family, and would never hesitate to give the shirt off his back for those he cared for most . He had a passion for hiking, motorsports, and snowboarding, and had found a deep peace being surrounded by the mountains. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving mother, Tamara Armas, along with his siblings. René will be forever loved, and remembered by all who knew him.
