SIFERT, Norene Ethel

Norene Ethel Sifert passed away peacefully at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the age of 88 years. She was born on December 3, 1934 at Gull Lake, Saskatchewan to Frank and Gladys McKee. Norene moved to Red Deer in 1946, where she attended Central Intermediate School from grades seven to nine, and then attended Red Deer Composite High School. After graduation, she took a Stenographic course at Alberta College in Edmonton. She was employed by the Red Deer Public School District at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School from 1966 – 1994 as support staff, working in the Media Department. Norene served as an Administrator Officer with the number Twenty-Four Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets from 1972 – 1980. Norene loved writing letters, enjoyed photo albums and scrap booking, and had impeccable penmanship. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or other important occasion. Norene also always took pride in her appearance and had a great sense of humor. Norene will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lori Tucker and Jane Sifert, her grandchildren, David Kokotailo and Shawna Kokotailo and her sister-in-law, Donna McKee. Norene was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Gordon McKee, her son, Gordon Sifert and her son-in-law, Bill Tucker. Norene’s family would like to thank all the staff at Extendicare Michener Hill for their care and kindness toward Norene. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. If desired and in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Norene’s honor may be made directly to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
