1944 – 2024
With sadness we inform you that Mrs. Marlene Ellen Braun (nee Dalton) passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the age of 79 years. Marlene was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 11, 1944. She worked for the Winnipeg School Board for a couple of years before deciding to move to Calgary, Alberta in the winter of 1964 to look for work. She enjoyed the warm weather so much that she decided to stay. Marlene worked at some Oil Patch Companies at first until she got a job in the Banking Industry in 1966 where she stayed for the next forty years. Marlene married Hank Braun in August of 1966. Their son, Craig was born in September of 1967 and their daughter, Wendy was born in August of 1970. They moved to Red Deer, Alberta in January of 1982 and that is where they called home until Marlene’s passing. Marlene enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, golfing, travelling, and quilting. Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Hank, her son, Craig (Michelle) Braun, his daughter, Wendy (Cory) Schultz, her grandsons, Christopher (Jessie) Braun, Tyler Braun, Brent Schultz (Caylin Hollingsworth), and her granddaughters, Mackenzie Schultz and Keegan Gardener. She will also be sadly missed by her brothers, Ron (Natalie) Dalton and Richard (Monique) Dalton. Marlene was predeceased by her dad, Jack Dalton and her mom, Katherine Dalton.
